		<div id="unique-entry-id-1" class="blog-entry"><h1 class="blog-entry-title">Dev diary archive</h1><div class="blog-entry-date">21/06/04 22:31 Somewhere in: <span class="blog-entry-category"><a href="category-developer-diary.html">Developer Diary</a></span></div><div class="blog-entry-body">First of all a big thank you to everyone who emailed us with congratulations, good wishes etc. It means a lot to us and greatly lessens the probability of one of us thinking &ldquo;What on earth were we thinking! Quick, get me the number of a recruitment agency!&rdquo; :)  Settling into the routine of being full time Mac game developers now. The first few weeks have involved all sorts of minor hassles and distractions, but not too surprising seeing as we were setting up a new company, moving from one end of the country to the other and writing a game at the same time :)  Airburst Extreme is starting to come together now though. We&rsquo;ve slipped a bit past our original planned GM date (something we&rsquo;ll be taking a look at in our project postmortem, which I&rsquo;m hoping to put on the newly resurrected iDevGames.com site), but we&rsquo;ve got a playable game now with most of the game types done and all the new powerups in. Adam&rsquo;s working on some of the Jaffa Mountain tracks this week and we&rsquo;ve had a great Airburst song from Les Carter of Abdoujaparov (www.abdou.co.uk) and we&rsquo;ve got music incoming from Freekstar (www.freekstar.com) too.  Now we&rsquo;re getting to the stage where we&rsquo;ll be nailing stuff down for the GM, I&rsquo;m planning the Airburst Extreme demo. Current tests are indicating that it will be in the region of 27-30mb in size. I&rsquo;m trying to keep that as low as possible now that I&rsquo;m feeling the pain of being stuck on dial-up too! We&rsquo;ll be concentrating on going GM first, but as soon as we&rsquo;ve done that, look for the demo!  We&rsquo;re also in the planning stage of transferring our website and downloads over to Freeverse&rsquo;s new XServe. This should mean much better download speeds for our updates and demos, although there&rsquo;s likely to be a few days of DNS weirdness and such when the transition actually occurs.  Aaron<br /><br /><SCRIPT LANGUAGE="javascript">blog_tags('post', 'DevDiary21062004.html', 'Dev diary archive')</SCRIPT></div></div>
